"I felt an absolutely indescribable sense of menace. It was hell on earth to be there in the presence of those entities, and yet I couldn't move, couldn't cry out, couldn't get away. I'd lay as still as death, suffering inner agonies. Whatever was there seemed so monstrously ugly, so filthy and dark and sinister. Of course they were demons. They had to be. And they were here and I couldn't get away." -The Transformation, Lord Samael.

Samael, "Lord" - The World of L'TieneChas the vampyric dragon

Lord Samael is a bit of a mystery that appeared at the beginning of the fifth age. It appears to be a mindless killing machine, a golem of sorts. It is a seeminlgy unstoppable seven foot tall hollow suit inhabited by a spiritual essence that requires the blood and mystic energy of the magi it hunts. Lord Samael wanders the world in search of the next magi, and always seems to know where the maggus is as soon as the elven oracle does but moves faster than mortal elves as the construct is supernatural, requires no rest and rides a horrid vampyric black dragon known as Chas. Lord Samael appears to be of usual construct intelligence most of the time but occassionally shows signs of poetic sentience and great wisdom. Lord Samael has slain every Maggus after Typhon's dissappearnace and is assumed to be connected somehow to Maggus Vaorren, Queen Lillith and the Defilers. It is known the Vaorren fear him and he is often in their lands though he does not actively hunt them. Lord Samael has been known to slay demons, angels, fae and Latrinian gods in the pursuit of a magi.

Samael, "Lord" - The World of L'Tiene

Spoiler Alert
Spoiler Alert Spoiler Alert

Lord Samael was the result of the betrayal of Queen Lillith to Maggus Typhon which allowed Typhon to overcome the elder maggus, Vaorren. Vaorren could not be destroyed but with Lillith's help was contained by Typhon, still Vaorren's desire for ultimate power could not be repressed by even Typhon and Lillith and thus all those Vaorren percieved at threats (other magi) are hunted and slain at birth by the the creature made of the two conflicted will, Samael. It was a concession Typhon was willing to make to end the reign of the terrible Maggus who would have otherwise overcome him and dominate the world once again. In this fashion Typhon maintains that no man will ever have such power again, meaning the victory, although bittersweet, was still a victory. The creature known as Samael is a sort of honorary Prince among the Vaorren and all fear him save for Queen Lillith who holds dominion over him.
